Slovakia resides in the middle of Europe, it has common borders with Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Ukraine.

It is also part of the Schengen area, it means that people have easy border-less access for travel (but not for residence and work) to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Slovakia is a European Union member from 1st of May 2004; is a part of Schengen zone from December of 2007; is part of Euro zone (has the Euro currency) from 2009.

No strong requirements for foreign business

When established and owning company in Slovakia:

  • you don’t need to have hundreds thousands of euros to start;
  • it’s not required to have director to be Slovak citizen;
  • you don’t required to employ any Slovak citizen;
  • you can pay to yourself director’s reward that can be very little (starting from 50 eur), not a minimal salary (480 eur from year 2018)
